WEEKLY NEWS FOR KNIGHTS AROUND THE WORLD

VOLUME 44 • NUMBER 9 • March 5, 2026

Throughout Lent, opportunities abound for Knights to fulfill their obligations of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In Nantucket, Massachusetts, Knights embraced a challenge that combined all three, spending a cold Ash Wednesday night outdoors to raise money for people experiencing homelessness. Whether by serving pregnancy resource centers, strengthening prayer life in the parish or holding food drives, councils around the world are living out the Order’s principles of charity, unity and fraternity in a special way this Lent.

A Night of Compassion

Knights from T.J. McGee Council 2612 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, spent Ash Wednesday night sleeping on the street — enduring winter conditions for nearly 12 hours — to raise money and awareness for housing insecurity and homelessness on the island. The council raised about $26,000, which will be donated to Nantucket Food, Fuel and Rental Assistance, an outreach service of the Nantucket Interfaith Council.

Support on the Journey to Choosing Life

With its welcoming pink exterior, Women’s Care Center in Moorhead, Minnesota, stands only steps away from a neighboring abortion facility, offering an essential lifesaving option for expectant mothers. Through the Order’s Ultrasound Initiative, St. Anthony Council 7083 in Fargo, South Dakota, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Council 4463 in Moorhead recently provided a new ultrasound machine for the center that will give women the powerful opportunity to see their unborn children.

Lenten Resources

In this holy season, join Dominican Father Jonathan Kalisch and Renzo Ortega, manager of digital evangelization content, as they unpack why we are called to sacrifice and what that can look like as Knights. Look for their weekly video reflections on the Sunday readings across the official K of C social media channels or at kofc.org/lent. You will also find additional free resources, including a guide to confession, meditations for praying the Stations of the Cross and more.

On the Whine List

On the Whine List

Habitual complaining cultivates a lack of gratitude and destroys interior peace, writes Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori in his recent column for Columbia. Lent offers a perfect opportunity to “replace whining with mutual encouragement, bonds of charity, unity and fraternity,” he continues. “Then, with united and grateful hearts, we can worthily drink the new wine of the kingdom — the blood of Christ shed for our redemption.”
