Brother Knights,

Council 1344 welcomes its newest member Augustine (Gus) Coolman. Who took his 1st Admission Degree April 25th here at St. Augustine Hall. His sponsor Clete Schindler is now entered into the trip for two to Dublin, Ireland world meeting of families in August that's a $9000.00 value.

The good news on our Annual Super Cash Bonanza Charity Ticket Campaign was the council sold 517 tickets, for a 4 ticket per member avg. ,for a higher rebate check. Seven members sold 20 or more tickets, 43 sold 5 or more, and four sold less than 5 tickets for the 517 tickets sold. The bad news was 72 Council 1344 members sold zero tickets. If just half of those who sold zero tickets had sold 5 tickets each the council would have made $600 more profit.

Napoleon Council has 14 members who owe dues for 2018. Please send your dues to F.S. Steve Schwiebert at N144 Co. Rd. 14, Napoleon, Oh 43545.

Nine council members, John Eckerode, Amador Molina, Ed Somoza, Clete Schindler, Larry Siclair, Clarence Schwab, Mel Kleman, Gary Brubaker, and Dave Steingass collected $1,082.51 for the Measure Up Campaign. The numbers were $698.36 at Chief, $384.15 in Holgate and $55.00 in the Give Me Five collection for a grand total of $1,137.51. The funds go to the Filling Home and Ohio Veterans Home.

Thanks to all who donated over 800 cans/boxes of food items that were collected for the councils 40 Cans for Lent can food drive.

The 2018-19 K of C 1344 Scholarships were drawn at the April meeting and the two K-12 grade winners were Braden Moriarty, son of Sean, and Chase Betts, Grandchild of Gene and Anne Grime. The two college winners were James Oberhaus, son of Tom, and Riley Siclair, Grandchild of Larry and Judy Siclair. The K-12 were $500 each and the college grants were $300 each this year because of a lower amount in the Scholarship Fund.

The Casino Bus Trip to Firekeepers in April sold 45 seats and had a profit of $710. Our next trip to Firekeepers is Sunday Oct. 28, 2018.

Council 1344 will provide a free breakfast/brunch for the graduating high school seniors from the parish and families on Sunday, May 20 after the 10:30 mass. New helpers are always needed.

Officer nomination to lead your council in the new two years term, will take place at the May meeting. We need new members to step into several positions that current officers have held for several years.

The council now has 36 members who receive their newsletters via email. The ideal number would be 50-60 , so if you would like to get your newsletter via email send to:
